In Key Stage 2 we will become confident, independent learners who love to learn and share our experiences.
In Year 3, we have a positive learning attitude and work hard to achieve our personal goals and targets. We all try to make the right 'CHOICES' and give 100% in everything we do.
Our classroom is set up to allow all children to learn to the best of their abilities. | We love reading in Year 3. We are very lucky to have lots of wonderful reading books all about our foundation subject topics. | To help us with our learning we have lots of learning displays with must know facts and visual resources we can look at. | We learn about lots of interesting things in Year 3 and display our learning because we are always very proud of it. |
At Rift House we aim for your child to patricipate in a broad and balanced curriculum. Our timetable shows various opportunities that your child will access daily, including opportunities for minfulness, Primary Movement and energizers.

Our topic during Autumn 2 in georgaphy is Rivers and Oceans. To launch our new topic we visited the Tees Barrage and expanded our knowledge on river formation and river usage.
During Autumn 2 in PE we are improving our skills in Gymnastics. We are focusing on shapes, balances, rolls and jumps which are all helping to improve our balance, co-ordination, flexibility and strength.
During Autumn 1 in PE we are improving our skills in Hockey. We are focusing on improving our attacking and defending which is helping our skills of flexibility, control and teamwork.
During Autumn 1 in PE we are improving our skills in Cricket. We are focusing on improving our throwing and catching skills whilst applying them to striking, batting and fielding during a game of cricket.
During Autumn 1 in Science our topic is rocks. We conducted an experiment between sandy and peaty soil to discover in which ways they were different.
We have been learning how to greet each other in French. We have really enjoyed having these conversations with our friends!
In English we have been retelling the story of The Three Little Pigs and creating our own alternative ending. We decided to role play the story together.
